You Needed Me: World's Worst iPod

June 1, 2016

Listening to the radio in 1978 could be a dangerous thing. The Top 40 was filled with songs that should have made us turn off our radios and run for the hills. But somehow, we just kept listening to these songs with questionable quality.

One of those songs was "You Needed Me" by Anne Murray. It hit #1 in November of '78, knocking out Nick Gilder's "Hot Child in the City."  It could only stick at the top spot for a week, as Donna's Summers' "MacArthur Park" and its melting cake took the top spot.

Some of yiou may prefer Stewie's version from Family Guy, but here's Anne singing her heart out on a Johnny Cash Christmas special.
