New Music Friday: Lorde, Young the Giant, Imagine Dragons

This week brings us tons of goodies. With a few new songs, videos, and albums, there’s much to celebrate this weekend. Check it all out below!

Lorde “Liability”

Following the delivery of the creatively teased “Greenlight” comes Lorde’s follow-up single, “Liability.” The simple ballad has a slow, bare-bones sound that’s starkly different from last week’s release. It speaks to the challenges that come with fame, and, interestingly enough, has a somewhat David Bowie feel—which makes sense considering Lorde wrote her forthcoming album, Melodrama (which will feature both tracks), in the mindset of making Bowie proud. Melodrama drops June 16, and you can check out the video below for more information about her latest release.

Young the Giant “Silvertongue”

I know, I know—we’ve already heard Young the Giant’s “Silvertongue,” but this week, the band shared the video for the track. The concept for the video is pretty dope. YTG brought in some fans and virtual-reality producers to create a live, virtual-reality performance. Check the video below and hear the song on 2016’s killer Home of the Strange.

Imagine Dragons “Believer”

Similar to the “Silvertongue” video, we’ve already heard “Believer.” While it was released at the end of January, Imagine Dragons shared a colorful new boxing match of a video for the song this week. The track will appear on their still unnamed third album, and you can catch the video below.

Other new music to get you into the weekend includes The Shins’ Heartworms, 311's “Too Much To Think,” Catfish and the Bottleman's “7 (Acoustic),” and the video for Local Natives’ “Dark Days.”
